Fluviacarte Pilot Book Chart-Guides

These are the key publications from Fluviacarte (the new publisher of the former Navicartes) that you’ll need for exploring, or travelling through, the waterways, rivers and canals. Each provides a map of the subject river or canal, kilometre by kilometre, with information (in French, English and German) about locks (width, rise, number of chambers), bridges (air draft), depths, towns and villages; and moorings. Whilst it is possible to travel using just a good waterways system map plus the various navigational signs that warn, instruct, or provide information we think it is preferable to have better information to hand. Note	Prices given below – in euros – exclude post and packing. For Fluviacartes, there is a postal cost differential between E.U countries and non-E.U countries. Publications will be despatched direct from the French publishers, by normal post, which is normally very reliable. 	Fluvial Guide du Plaisancier 2011 Almanac Guide to all the navigable rivers and canals in France Published in conjunction with the ANPEI (the French inland boating association), this comprehensive annual directory lists all navigable waterways, their basic data (length, depth, air draft, etc.), ports (telephone numbers, rates), haltes, boatyards and other essential services and information, including tariffs and regulations. 2011 Edition – now sold out. 	Navicarte/Fluviacarte 21 – French Waterways Map All the navigable rivers and canals in France Fluviacarte folded map showing all the French waterways at the scale of 1/1 400 000. Technical details such as overall length, available draught and headroom are indicated. All the locks are also shown. This map is essential for planning the best route across France or for researching cruising areas. 2011 Edition.

The canal route due east from Vitry through Nancy to Strasbourg and then south to the Rhine, together with the Sarre canal north to Sarreguemine.
