River Cruise Day 1: Lyon

Arrive at Lyon and board the Amadeus Symphony from 4 pm this afternoon. Settle into your cabin at your leisure and take some time to explore the ship before setting sail this evening. Enjoy a welcome cocktail on board followed by the Captain’s Welcome Dinner this evening.

River Cruise Day 2: Lyon – Macon

This morning you arrive in Macon. There is an optional tour of Macon and the Beaujolais, learning about wine making, which is synonymous with this region of France. Later this afternoon there is another optional tour, taking in Cluny Abbey, which was founded in 910 by Benedictine monks. The ship departs late this evening and sails overnight to her next stop.

River Cruise Day 3: Chalon-sur-Saone

The ship arrives in Chalon-sur-Saone this morning and you may wish to join a morning tour of Beaune and the Burgundy region. Later, there is an optional tour of the Medieval Brancion and Cormatin, before the Amadeus Symphony sets sail towards Tournus in the early evening, where you will have a brief stop before returning on board in time for dinner.

River Cruise Day 4: Lyon

The entire day is spent in the stunning city of Lyon, where you will have the opportunity to explore on your own or join an optional, guided tour of the city. Return to the ship to sail onto your next destination during the late afternoon.

River Cruise Day 5: Avignon

You arrive in the rich city of Avignon at lunch time today. There is an optional afternoon tour of Avignon, including the Palace of the Popes, which you may choose to join. Otherwise you will have some free time to explore on your own.

River Cruise Day 6: Avignon – Arles

This morning you will have some free time to further acquaint yourself with Avignon. Alternatively, there is a selection of optional tours that you may wish to join. Choose from the Pont du Gard Roman Aqueduct and Uzes, a tour of the Camargue Nature Reserve or the Roman Heritage tour in Nimes. The ship leaves Avignon at lunch time and sails towards Arles, where you will have the evening to wander around this beautiful city, which was the inspiration behind many of the paintings produced by Vincent van Gogh.

River Cruise Day 7: Viviers – La Voulte-sur-Rhone

Early this morning the Amadeus Symphony arrives in Viviers and you will have the opportunity to join a tour of the Valley of the Ardèche, before continuing your cruise towards La Voulte in the afternoon. Tonight there is a Captain’s Farewell Dinner on board the ship, along with a show performed by the crew.

River Cruise Day 8: Lyon

Arrive back in Lyon early this morning and disembark the ship after breakfast.
