Fluviacarte Pilot Book Chart-Guides
These are the key publications from Fluviacarte (the publisher of the former Navicartes as well as Fluvial magazine) that you’ll need for exploring, or travelling through, the waterways, rivers and canals. Each provides a map of the subject river or canal, kilometre by kilometre, with information (in French, English and German) about locks (width, rise, number of chambers), bridges (air draft), depths, towns and villages; and moorings.
Fluviacarte guides, once comprehensive, are sadly reduced in their network coverage. For comparison, see the list of Breil guides (and their revision dates). However, the Fluvial Guide du Plaisancier bi-annual directory (see below) is uniquely useful and highly recommended.
